Fall Festival 5k Foot Race

image The Fall Festival 5k Foot Race was a fantastic success! Thank you to all who were involved.
We raised more than twice our goals of two surgeries and were able to send off enough money for five surgeries! This will change the lives of five children. Upcoming for winter 2011 we are planning a drive for stuffed animals to send to Operation Smile and a carnation drive for Valentine's Day to start the New Year'sfundraising for Halldale Operation Smile. Thank you again for those who helped make the race such a success. The donation button is still alive and well in case you wish to donate to Halldale Operation Smile. Happy Holidays!

Operation Smile

Image Cleft palates and lips are types of facial deformities that can cause complications concerning the consumption of food, health, speech and social situations. Many families around the world do not have the ability to provide their children with the necessary corrective surgeries. This is where Operation Smile steps in; Throughout the years thousands of volunteer medical professionals have traveled to impoverished nations to set ups clinics to provide the needed surgeries. Hall-Dale Operation Smile's mission is to help this fantastic cause to continue flourishing.

About us

Hall-Dale Operation Smile was founded by Kate Cart in early 2010. This was a project very important to her. She organized several fundraisers over 2010 to raise money for Operation Smile operations. The biggest project of the year was the October 2010 5k footrace. After coordinating the help of high schiool volunteers the day fo the race dawned a bit brisk but with a large crowd of eager runners. That day Halldale Operation Smile raised enough to fund 5 operations for children with cleft palette.

The Spring donation drive brought in hundred of toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, toys and many other items to be given to the children after their operations.

The big push organizing the October Fest 5K Foot race was well worth it. Look for the race for 2011.
